Dandelion Salve - Vegan
I have a huge dandelion plant in my back yard. I'd originally intended to let it get to about 3 years, then pull the root. Well, that was about 4 years ago. There are 5 really big dandelions in my back yard, but the oldest is definitely the queen. Nearly every day, I get out there and pick the flowers right before they open and put them in my jar. As the season progresses, the queen dandelion gets taller and taller. Last year, I looked up to the top of this dandelion and I am 6 feet tall. At any rate, these flowers get infused into olive oil for 6 weeks under sun and moon light, then strained out and a new batch of flowers are added to infuse again. So, yes, a double infusion.
Once that is done, a beautiful salve is made with a little ginger essential oil. It encourages healing in the skin, but I've also had several people report soothing of their pains as well. Delightful.
